CELTIC FOOTBALL CLUB

Challenge

Celtic FC are one of the most widely known clubs in world football with a Global Brand. They enjoy an international fan base which follows the fortunes of players from countries such as Mexico, Spain, Guiana, Holland, Poland, Germany, Japan and South Korea.

We were asked to produce the identity and branding for special events featuring two of the Club’s most loved players, Shunsuki Nakamura (Japan) and Artur Boruc (Poland).

The challenge was to capture their unique personalities and achievements in a commemorative brochure and event material. The brochures would be signed by the players and would become a piece of treasured Club memorabilia.

Solution

We researched the players backgrounds and their country’s social and political culture. This provided a wealth of imagery and typography which we deployed to maximum effect when telling each player’s story.

Each brochure featured rich, atmospheric imagery which captured the drive and passion of these national icons.

They appealled not just to UK fans but also to their Japanese and Polish followers around the world. We wanted to ensure that in years to come the players will be remembered with warmth and affection. The events were a great success and were very well received by the Club and supporters alike.
